Strawberries & Cream
Local Independent Store Gravelle’s Budgens of Sawston worked in partnership with OWL, their current chosen charity, holding a strawberries and cream morning for customers to enjoy as they shopped. Students from OWL served the strawberries which had been kindly donated by Budgens local strawberry supplier Cammas Hall, based in Hertfordshire.

Gravelles Sawston store has raised over £500 for their local charity Opportunities Without Limits (OWL)over the last 6 months with a combination of instore seasonal raffles and our on-going Pennies for Plastic Scheme. The cheque was presented to many of the OWL students at the AGM meeting held on Monday 30th June at Sawston Village College.

Sawbridgeworth Schools Initiative
During 2008 and some of 2009 Sawbridgeworth Budgens supported 6 local schools to help them raise money for their own projects. The total exceeded £4500 thanks to great support from our customers and the participating schools.

National Cuppa Day
Budgens held a morning tea party with the Hailey Day Centre. It was an opportunity for the locals of Sawbridgeworth to come in and enjoy free tea and cakes with the staff from Budgens.

Easter Raffle
Congratualtions to Megan Freeman, winner of the Giant Easter Egg Raffle. All monies from this very well supported fund raiser will be added to the six schools fund. Many thanks to those who bought tickets.

The Christmas Hamper raffle, won by Rosalyn Thompson, raised £800 for the 6 local schools.

School Fund Raising Update
A massive chocolate egg was the prize for the Easter raffle which raised a super £600 which has been added to the local school fundraising pot. Eco Bag sales also contributed an encouraging £175 to the kitty.
